Artist's Statement

My work explores the boundary where hard-edged geometric structure meets fluid, biomorphic form. I am interested in spatial tension—how a sharp, deliberate line can cut through a raw, expressive field of texture to create a sense of architectural discord and resolution.

My process is deeply physical and intuitive. Each painting begins with spontaneous, rapid mark-making on the surface. I build layers of thick acrylic impasto, aggressively carving and incising into the wet medium to leave a permanent record of the tool's movement. This layering creates a structural tension, where hidden colors and older marks bleed through the final surface.

Ultimately, I am driven by the emotional resonance of the painting. By stripping away literal representation and focusing on rhythm, contrast, and weight, I invite viewers to bring their own internal narratives to the surface of the canvas.
